A six-year-old kid has died in hospital after going missing in Perth’s south on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon around 4pm, the kid known simply as Joey went missing in Booragoon, 20 minutes south of Perth.
After WA Police issued an urgent notice for assistance in locating Joey.
Residents began a hurried search of the region as a result.
“WA Police Force are searching for a missing child in the Booragoon area,” WA Police said in a statement on Sunday. ”Described as male age six years old 120cm tall, thin build, tanned skin, blond mullet haircut with blue eyes.” “He may have no clothing and not respond when spoken to.”
Joey was discovered lifeless in a backyard pool just a few streets away from his home after 90 minutes.
With a priority one alert, three ambulances were dispatched to the cul-de-sac, and emergency personnel began CPR on the young boy on the scene.
Joey was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital in a severe condition, where he died later.
On Sunday night, officers closed passage to Candish Court in Booragoon, which backs into Riseley Street, and stationed officers in front of a property.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, but police say they are classifying his death as “non-suspicious.”
