Cindy Gambino, the mother of three young boys who were murdered in one of Victoria’s most notorious crimes back in 2005, has suddenly died.
On Father’s Day, Robert Farquharson drove his vehicle into a Winchelsea dam, causing the deaths of Cindy Gambino’s three sons.
Now, the family is mourning another devastating loss, after Cindy died Tuesday at 50 years old of a “medical episode.”
Her devastated family called her a “warrior for justice,” and expressed their gratitude to everyone who supported them during their sorrow.
The Gambino family issued a statement on Thursday confirming her death.
“It is with deep sadness that we confirm the passing of loving mother and wife, Cindy Gambino, on Tuesday, 10 May 2022, at just 50 years of age. Cindy suffered a medical episode in her home on Sunday, 8 May 2022,” the statement read, according to the Geelong Advertiser.
“Cindy’s devoted husband, Stephen Moules, and paramedics made valiant attempts to revive Cindy, and she was conveyed to University Hospital Geelong.
“Cindy has been a warrior for justice since losing her three sons, Jai, Tyler and Bailey, in an act of vehicular murder committed by their father, Robert Farquharson on 4 September 2005.”
In 2005, after her ex-husband drove their family automobile into a dam along the Princes Highway, leaving the youngsters inside, Cindy earned widespread compassion.
After the tragedy, Cindy gave birth to two more children, which she claims restored her hope.
In 2007, Farquharson was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being found guilty of triple murder.
