Friends close to Erin Jayne Plummer have revealed that the Studio 10 host died by suicide and that they wish they could have done more to ‘help carry the weight of her pain.’
The 42-year-old TV presenter died suddenly on Sunday, igniting rampant online conspiracy rumours that she died from COVID vaccination.
However, her devastated friends have stated that she committed suicide after a lengthy and difficult mental health struggle, leaving behind a widower with three children.
Erin was a devoted mother and loved her children ‘boundlessly,’ but she suffered during the COVID lockdown and had not been her ‘bouncy, energetic self’ in recent weeks.
Some people said they feel guilty for thinking she would ‘bounce back’ as usual.
In a tribute, Erin’s father Peter Gard said that her daughters are ‘little mini versions of her’ – as they now have to face the future without their mum by their side.
Erin was an accomplished synchronised swimmer who won 11 national titles and represented Australia at three world championships.
