A body found in a creek in Sydney’s west is thought to be that of a teenager who has been missing for almost a month.
Merna Kasha, 18, was discovered lifeless in Green Valley Creek near Pitt Street on Sunday afternoon by police.
The 18-year-old was last seen leaving a family member on Kihilla Street in Fairfield Heights at around 11:00 p.m. on April 28th.
She could have spoken with her family a few days later, but she hasn’t been seen since.
Kasha was a regular visitor to Toronto’s Fairfield Heights and Liverpool areas.
The body has yet to be formally identified, although it is assumed to be that of a missing teen.
An investigation is ongoing into Kasha’s actions and death.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
It’s possible that Kasha’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
