A successful woman who managed a prominent yoga studio in Queensland passed away after giving birth at home to a baby girl who was perfectly healthy.
A mother of three, Lauren Verona, passed away after giving birth to a healthy baby girl.
Her team described her passing as “unfathomable” in a statement that they posted on Facebook to announce the tragic news to their “beloved community.”
Just a few days earlier, Lauren Verona had posted on Facebook that she had reached the 41st week of her pregnancy.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the rate of maternal mortality in Australia was five fatalities for every 100,000 women who gave birth in 2018.
This statistic is current as of 2018. Verona had been documenting her pregnancy on social media, and she had said in a post that was published five days before, “we are 41 weeks pregnant trusting the higher plan.”
Ms. Verona, who is survived by her partner Ryan and three daughters, had chronicled her pregnancy on social media.
She had shared that she had suffered complications during her pregnancy, including a low-lying placenta, and that she had been “couch-bound at 35 weeks with indescribable pelvic girdle pain.”
Before she passed away while giving birth, Ms. Verona had been married for a total of only four months.
