Amber Heard has made public previously unseen documents that, according to her, provide evidence that supports her claim that Johnny Depp “abused” her.
Despite being found guilty of defamation in a highly televised case brought against the actor and ordered to pay him more than $10 million in damages for an article in which she portrayed herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse,” she continued talking about her “abuse” in an interview for NBC Dateline.
During her talk with the host Savannah Guthrie, Heard stated that she had a binder full of “years of notes dating back to 2011,” which supported the assertions that she had made.
The doctor to whom Heard was “reporting the abuse to” was the one who made the notes, and the judge who presided over the defamation case found that they were inadmissible because they were “hearsay” and constituted hearsay.
After reviewing some of the notes that Heard’s therapist took during their sessions, NBC was able to confirm that the notes demonstrated that Heard discussed being abused physically as long back as 2012.
According to the notes, Heard disclosed to her therapist in January of that year that Depp had “struck her and thrown her on the floor.”
Eight months later, she said that Depp “threw her on the bed” and “torn her nightgown.” Heard’s allegations that Depp “threw her against a wall and threatened to kill her” were detailed in a second note from the therapist that was dated 2013.
“Her notes represented years of real-time explanations of what was going on,” Heard told Guthrie.
A representative for Depp has addressed the recent allegations in a statement.
“It’s unfortunate that while Johnny is looking to move forward with his life, the defendant and her team are back to repeating, reimagining and re-litigating matters that have already been decided by the court and a verdict that was unanimously and unequivocally decided by a jury in Johnny’s favour,” the spokesman said.
In another part of the extensive interview, Heard revealed that she is still in love with Depp, which sent shockwaves through social media.
“Absolutely. I love him,” Heard said in an interview.
“I loved him with all my heart. And I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work. And I couldn’t.
“I have no bad feelings or ill-will towards him at all,” she added.
