A woman claims to have wed a handcrafted ragdoll after falling in love with it and that the two now have a “baby.”
According to Meirivone Rocha Moraes, 37, when her mother created a ragdoll named Marcelo and introduced her to it, it was immediately love at first sight.
After hearing her whine about being alone and not having anyone to dance with, her mother created the doll.
Meirivone decided to get married after a brief but intense romance.
With 250 guests present, they were wed in a “lovely” ceremony.
The 37-year-old says having a family with Marcelo is “amazing,” but she does confess that sometimes he can be “lazy.”
“It was because I didn’t have a forró dancer. I would go to these dances but wouldn’t always find a partner.”
“Then he entered into my life and it all made sense. The wedding was a wonderful day for me, very important, very emotional. It rained a lot but it was wonderful,” she said.
“From the moment I walked down the aisle to the end, it was just beautiful. Then went to the wedding night with my husband Marcelo and we enjoyed our wedding night a lot.”
On May 21, 2022, the couple gave birth to their doll-child Marcelinho with the assistance of a nurse and doctor.
Meirivone broadcast the “home birth” live online for 200 viewers.
“It really upsets me when people say this is fake. It makes me so angry. I am a woman of character. My father, and my mother taught me to be honest, to be a good person, and not want to take advantage of anything,” Meirivone protested on the authenticity of the whole ordeal.
