Police earlier warned Robert E. Crimo III should be regarded armed and dangerous and was hauled over by police on Monday evening after a brief pursuit. Earlier, Highland Park Investigators Chief Lou Jogmen claimed that police had identified Crimo as a person of interest.

Police declined to address questions regarding how they recognised Crimo.
Robert "Bobby" E. Crimo III is the mass murderer in Highland Park, Illinois and has been apprehended ALIVE, of course. Reminds you how many young Black Men like Jayland Walker with no weapons who have been killed brutally by police for traffic violations. #WhiteSupremacy! pic.twitter.com/Yj2HY9IiUl

Highland Park Police Commander Chris O’Neill, the incident commander on location, asked people to shelter in place as investigators looked for the attacker.
“It was a quiet, peaceful, lovely morning, people were enjoying the parade”.
“Within seconds, to have that peacefulness suddenly ripped apart, it’s scary. You can’t go anywhere, you can’t find peace. I think we are falling apart.” said Adrienne Drell, a former Sun-Times reporter.
Number of fired rounds forced hundreds of parade-goers — some visibly bloodied — fleeing.
Police are yet to release names and details about the wounded and killed people.
