Most people are aware that big cruise ships offer a tonne of unique amenities like gyms, swimming pools, casinos, and occasionally theatres.
Some of the rooms on board, though, may never be seen by passengers, according to a former cruise ship employee.
The Australian woman, @laurentalkssmack, used TikTok to reveal “weird cruise ship secrets” that many people are unaware of.
According to her, cruise ships are home to some pretty bizarre things that you might not know about as a visitor.

It’s a little unsettling that there is a mortuary and a jail on board.
“We actually witnessed a dead body being wheeled out of the morgue when we worked on a cruise liner.
Obviously, there was a cover over it, but just the thought of that is horrifying.
The former employee claimed that it was “so confronting” that it caused her to “no longer want to work on a cruise ship.”
Additionally, she said, “they also have a jail cell, so if someone is acting inappropriately, they’ll just lock them in there.”
The Carnival cruise ship she worked on didn’t have a deck 13, which was another aspect that alarmed her.
Because it’s considered superstitious, Carnival doesn’t have a deck 13, she explained.
I’m sorry, but it is f****** odd. Like, why are you giving me the impression that superstition is relevant when we’re on a cruise ship, she added.
