A teenager has passed away in the hospital almost one week after being involved in an accident involving an electric scooter in Logan.
Just after 8:35 in the morning on Tuesday, the local teenager, riding an electric scooter, lost control and fell down the footpath along Basalt Drive in Yarrabilba.
However, he passed away on Sunday despite being taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
His mother, Gemma Cocoran, posted the following message on Facebook on Sunday: “My beautiful baby boy grew his angel wings at 3.24 p.m. today surrounded by all who loved him.”
“I love you mummy’s baby boy. You put up the biggest fight and tried your hardest.”
The forensic crash team and the child protection and investigation unit are currently conducting an investigation into the occurrence, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Anyone with information or footage that could be important to the enquiry is requested to contact the police as soon as possible.
A man in his 50s died almost one year ago after crashing his e-scooter into a pole in an inner-Brisbane suburb. The man had been riding his e-scooter and overtook a bicycle before crashing into the pole seconds later.
The police suspected that he might have had a medical episode.
