According to a report in The Daily Telegraph, a dad from Sydney who lives in the area called the police after raising concerns about a before and after-school care centre that his child, who is five years old, attended providing classes on gender and sexuality.
The parent, whose child attends before and after-school care at Roseville Primary school, and who wished to remain anonymous, expressed surprise that the children were learning about gender theory and sexuality at such a young age.
He said that he was shocked to see the children learning about these topics.
“I visited it and was astonished that there was a gigantic out-size ‘pride’ flag; it was the biggest flag in the room, considerably bigger than the Australian flag,” he added. “I visited it and was shocked that there was a giant out-size ‘pride’ flag.”
When I walked in, there was an entire wall devoted to explaining various sexual orientations and providing definitions of terms such as “pansexual” and “lesbian.”
He expressed confusion as to why his son, who was only five years old at the time, was being taught gender theory and concepts pertaining to sexual identity at such a young age.
He voiced his worries to the centre, and they took the matter up with the local police after hearing about the father’s concerns from the centre.
The father reported that he had a conversation with the police, who informed him that he did not have a case to answer and that no offence was recorded.
