A 33yo Gold Coast mother has revealed that she has been subjected to trolling on the internet and called a “monster” because she decided to get her child’s large facial birthmark removed with laser treatment.
Her daughter Amarni, who is two years old, and her son Kingsley, who is six months old, are both the children of her partner, Kewene Wallace.
When Kingsley was born in January, he was marked with a big mark that covered over half of his face. This mark is called a port wine stain.
Port wine stains are not often harmful, although they can be connected to glaucoma and a rare neurological ailment known as Sturge Weber Syndrome if they form on the face or around the eye region. Both of these conditions are extremely rare.
Sturge-Weber syndrome is the root cause of seizures and other neurological issues, but glaucoma can lead to vision loss in some patients.
Both port wine stains and kingliness were found, and both will become darker and undergo transformations as time passes.
According to what Brooke had to share with NeedToKnow.online, “They can produce a ‘cobblestone’ look with raised lumps, ridges, and the danger of lethal blood flows.”
When a port wine stain reaches this stage, it is typically exceedingly difficult to treat, and a laser has little to no effect on it because the skin is already far too damaged.
On May 31, Kingsley’s family came to the conclusion that the best treatment for his mark would be laser therapy.
Brooke has been under fire from internet trolls on TikTok, who have called her a “monster” for allowing her child to undergo treatment.
