A Brazilian fitness enthusiast, aged 55, who injected oil into his body to build larger muscles, has died.
According to the New York Post, Valdir Segato has been injecting himself with possibly lethal amounts of Synthol for years to build huge biceps, pectoral, and back muscles.
According to Segato, Arnold Schwarzenegger and fictional characters such as the Hulk were his physical influences.
In 2016, he told Daily Mail, “I enjoy being referred to as Hulk, Schwarzenegger, and He-Man. I’ve increased the size of my biceps, but I want to be much bigger.”
A Sao Paulo citizen was informed six years ago that he would suffer amputation, at the very least, nerve damage, and musical disfigurement if he continued to use injections.
After he began injecting himself, his biceps expanded to 58 centimetres in circumference.
On the streets, he wore the moniker “the monster” as a badge of honour.
On Instagram, he renamed himself “Valdir Synthol” and shared images of his physical makeover.
Local media reported that the bodybuilder led a solitary lifestyle with few friends and visitors, despite having 1.7 million TikTok followers.
When Segato was transported to a medical facility, he collapsed at the entrance, exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack.
