After only a few weeks after giving birth, Shannon Sime passed away from a stroke, and her heartbroken husband, Scott, has received condolences from the public in response to his tragic loss.
Before making the trip to Australia from the United Kingdom six weeks ago, Shannon Sime was employed as a hairdresser.
On Friday of last week, Shannon’s husband, Scott Shannon, broke the bad news to their Facebook friends by announcing that he was single-handedly caring for their daughter, Harlow.
In a heartbreaking post he wrote, “I genuinely don’t even know where to begin writing this…
“Last Friday morning, Shannon was rushed into hospital. Unfortunately, from there she gained her angel wings.”
Remembering his wife, he continued: “Shannon is the most amazing person I’ve ever met, she’s my best friend as well my wife and the mother to our beautiful daughter.
“She’s made this world a much better place and it comforts me in knowing how many positive impacts she’s had on people lives from every corner of the globe.
The conversation continued with Scott saying that he was “eternally grateful” that Shannon had chosen him to “do life” with and that he would give their daughter “the life you would have wanted for her.”
Scott received messages of love and support from friends, family, and even strangers who read and commented on his story, which they shared with him along with their most cherished recollections of Shannon.
After having lived in Adelaide and Melbourne in the past, Shannon and Scott moved to the Gold Coast from the United Kingdom ten years ago.
According to a GoFundMe website established by friends of Shannon and Simon, the final’selfless’ deed that Shannon did was to donate her organs, which had the potential to save the lives of five other individuals.
