The family is putting their trust in God after their daughter, who was swimming when she was involved in a freak accident that left her paralysed.
It is anticipated that Sarah Faulkner, who is seven years old, will regain her mobility.
She was taken to the hospital on August 6 with injuries after a youngster mistakenly jumped on her from a rock that was nine metres above the water while they were swimming at a campground.
Paralysis affects Sarah’s lower body below the waist.
In addition to that, she had to have 19 staples implanted in her head.
“She said when the girl landed on her back that her whole body froze, and she hit her head on the bottom of the creek and, evidently, drove her all the way to the bottom,” Sarah’s father Tre Faulkner said.
Even after having an open and honest conversation with Sarah’s physician, the Faulkners continue to have faith that Sarah will regain her ability to walk.
The family is well aware of the magnitude of this request, and as a result, they are keeping their fingers crossed for a “miracle.”
In the midst of all the chaos, the teenager who had jumped onto Sarah ran away.
When Sarah suggested that they should forgive her, everyone in the family joined her in praying that God would take away her anguish as well.
