Actress and radio broadcaster Kate Ritchie said she had made a “poor decision” after she was caught driving with a blood-alcohol level in the low range.
An employee of a radio station was pulled over on Heffron Road in Pagewood on Monday afternoon for refusing to blow into a Breathalyzer when requested to do so.
She was taken to the Maroubra police station for a follow-up test, during which she allegedly gave a result that was 0.06 times higher than the allowed threshold.
The positive reading corresponds to the lower end of the range.
Ritchie expressed his regret for his behaviour in an Instagram post.
“Recently I undertook a random breath test. Although it was low level, the test came back positive,” she wrote.
“I made a poor decision and there is no doubt I understand the seriousness of my actions.
“I am truly sorry.”
In addition to a fine of $600, Ritchie had her licence suspended for a period of three months.
