John Farnham, an Australian musician, is awake and in good condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) a week after undergoing surgery to remove a malignant tumour that was located in his mouth.
After the devastating news that the singer had been diagnosed with cancer and would have surgery to remove a tumour, the singer’s wife Jill and two sons, Rob and James, issued a statement through Farnham’s family that gave a good update on the singer’s health.
Following the removal of a malignant tumour from John’s mouth on Tuesday, the statement said that John’s condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) has remained stable.
He is awake and doing well in response to the attention that is being given to him.
Since the announcement was made the previous Tuesday, the Farnham family has received hundreds of words of support, all of which have been recognised by the family.
In a statement, the family added, “The Farnham family would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for their continuous words and well wishes that have been offered throughout the course of the past week.”
“It really lifts our spirits knowing that everyone is thinking of John.”
According to Ford, who was interviewed by radio station 6PR last week, the remainder of Farnham’s career as a singer is in doubt
.
Ford stated that it is doubtful that Farnham will perform live again after enduring a gruelling 12-hour procedure.
