Outrage has erupted on social media after a video of teenage tennis star Sara Bejlek’s amazing US Open win.
The Czech teenager will debut in a major tournament on Tuesday when she competes in the first round of the US Open. She qualified for the tournament by advancing through the qualifying rounds in New York.
It was a historic day for Czech tennis, as three teens advanced to the women’s singles competition at Flushing Meadows, and her victory over Britain’s Heather Watson was the highlight moment of the day.
However, the celebration that followed Bejlek’s victory over the former Top 40 player 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 somewhat overshadowed the historic occasion that was being celebrated.
The World No. 194 was seen on the live TV broadcast shaking hands with her opponent and the chair umpire before embracing him as they celebrated a moment together.
The next thing she saw was walking over to another guy and patting him on the behind.
During the embrace, it appeared that both Bejlek’s father and coach had touched her behind.
Due to the contentious nature of the celebration, it has captured the attention of people all around the world.
Fans on Twitter have reportedly voiced their concern that the footage is “inappropriate” and “creepy.”
