On Monday morning, the show’s current co-host, Allison Langdon, abruptly left the show in the middle of an episode and cited an illness as the reason for her departure.
Immediately following the 7:30 a.m. news broadcast, Langdon turned to her co-host Karl Stefanovic and announced that she was going to leave early because she was sick.
“In all seriousness, I am planning to depart from here this morning.
She explained that she had begun to feel ill but didn’t want to leave her co-host “in the lurch” so she stated, “I have just felt a little bit wobbly,” meaning that she had become unsteady.
Stefanovic made light of the situation by joking, “I didn’t notice since you are shaky a lot on a Monday morning.”
As the weather presenter Tim Davies stated that they needed to “break out the Glen 20,” Langdon quipped that she had “done a RAT” to check for Covid.
After that, for the remainder of the programme, an entertainment reporter named Brooke Boney sat in Langdon’s place at the desk.
Because of concerns about his health, Langdon has left Today with short notice for the second time in a matter of a few months.
According to Stefanovic, after she vanished in June during a commercial break while the show was on, she went home unwell because she had a “frog in her throat.”
