During a crowd visit following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, footage of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, being snubbed by a mourner has gone viral.
On September 10, photographs were taken of Meghan chatting with members of the crowd that had gathered in front of Windsor Castle to pay their respects to the recently deceased king.
Mourners could be seen shaking the Duchess’s hand as she spoke with them.
One lady could be seen averting her eyes downwards as the Duchess passed in a video that was posted to Twitter.
Before shaking her head, she gave the woman sitting next to her a knowing glance and then continued shaking her head.
The video sparked a heated discussion on Twitter, with users divided over the interaction.
One user of social media made a witty comment, saying, “Lady in the blue having none of it.”
“Brilliant!
Someone else remarked that “we are all that lady in blue.”
Others thought the Duchess had been subjected to “rude” behaviour.
“I don’t believe it.
I have no words.
It is an insult,” said one viewer.
Another observer stated that the mourner acted “politely” in the given circumstances.
