A teenager is killed in a car accident while delivering pizza, and stunned bystanders recount the moment they saw the “burning debris” of his car.
Alex Edwards, 18, was killed while working a delivery shift for Domino’s when his Toyota Yaris collided with a tree on Somerset Drive in Mudgeeraba, on the Gold Coast, at 9:15 p.m.
When the collision happened, a woman who was besides the damaged car reported hearing a woman screaming.
According to the local, “She was simply saying no, no, no over and over again.”
The victim’s grieving parents were among those who read notes and left trinkets, such as a P-plate, at the base of the tree he hit on Monday.
His mother sobbed on the grass as she read the touching remarks on the website and said, “You’ll be missed for a long time.”
Your jokes always had us in stitches.
A local resident later consoled her.
Friends have posted touching condolences to the boy online as well as leaving photos on the side of the road where he died.
According to a neighbour, who said she had seen nine accidents only metres from her front door, the region was well known for its car accidents.
