A family in Queensland went through unimaginable trauma after their puppy, who was only five months old, was mauled by another dog while playing in an off-leash park.
Honey, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just five months old at the time, was attacked by another dog in an off-leash area of Hinterland Regional Park.
Honey’s owner, Ashleigh McDonald, stated that she sustained serious wounds.
Her lungs were pierced, and her chest was crushed in the process.
According to Ashleigh, Honey was unfailingly kind and joyful, and her presence brought a smile to everyone’s face.
According to Ashleigh’s father, Honey and Ashleigh were playing alone in the park.
When another person entered the fenced-off area with their dog, Ashleigh became concerned and sought to pick up Honey.
The owner of her second dog gave her reassurance that everything would be okay.
Honey suffered severe wounds as a result of the other dog’s bite.
Mr. McDonald told 7News that his family was “screaming in misery,” and he expressed his hope that nobody else would have to go through something similar to what they are experiencing.
According to 7News, the event is currently being investigated by the Gold Coast City Council.
The identity of the second dog has not yet been determined.
