A video of a heated confrontation between a customer and staff member at a restaurant in Australia went viral on September 26.
The incident was captured on camera by TikToker Bec Hardgrave, who was with her friends when she visited Karen’s diner in Brisbane.
The restaurant, which is known for its “madness” and “unforgettable” experiences, deliberately served the customers poorly and then refused to take their orders.
Although Ms Hardgrave understood the concept of Karen’s diner, she said the staff members went too far when one of them made fun of a male customer’s receding hairline.
In her video, the angry customer can be seen standing in front of a man who was wearing a red-face mask and throwing paper towels and straw across the floor.
The employee then responds by saying “No body shaming.” According to the customer, what’s one thing your sign says?
The restaurant’s website clearly states that it does not tolerate racist, homophobic, and ableist comments. However, it also states that it doesn’t allow body shaming.
Due to the incident, the internet was divided into two groups: those who were in the right and those who were in the wrong.
Some users criticized the restaurant for serving the customers poorly and not taking their orders. However, most of the people who responded to the video defended the customer.
