in New Zealand, an undercover officer was caught on camera pulling a fast one on the law enforcers as he pretended to be a window washer. The incident was caught on video, which was sent to a local radio station.
The men were filming a window washer as he was on the side of the road. He said he recognized the undercover officer, who was wearing a police uniform, as the one who issued him a ticket.
However, while he was filming, the undercover cop started ignoring the accusations and tried to walk away.
A group of police officers then approached the man, who was still filming, and asked him to move on.
The police officers, who were in uniform, confirmed that the man was an undercover cop. He was wearing plain clothes and had a badge.
“The use of a plain clothes officer to watch for these offences is a standard operating tactic to prevent death and serious injuries on our roads,” he said in a statement.
“There are lessons here for our staff on the appropriate way to conduct these operations in future and I will be ensuring those conversations will be had.”
