After four days of searching, a Gold Coast grandfather with dementia was found alive in New South Wales’ rugged terrain.
66-year-old Billy Dilworth, was last seen at his Pimpama home on Wednesday. His family phoned for help after he failed to return home.
More than 50 volunteers from various local communities searched through thick bush near Byrrill Creek, about 25 kilometers southwest of Murwillumbah.
Various emergency services, including the police, the Rural Fire Service, and the Volunteer Rescue Association, were involved in the search for Dilworth, who was last seen in Doon Doon.
According to Matt Kehoe, the last signal from Dilworth’s phone was sent to Doon Doon. His car was later found at a health retreat.
