A spokesperson for Aaron Carter confirmed that the former child pop singer died at his home in California. The incident reportedly happened at around 11am on Saturday.
According to reports, law enforcers were sent to the house after a call was made regarding a male who had reportedly drowned in a bathtub.
A representative for the singer said that Carter’s family was notified about the death.
The statement released by the spokesperson said that Carter was found unresponsive at his home in Palmdale. The family was notified and will be flying to Los Angeles to attend to Aaron’s funeral.
The former child pop singer worked hard to make amends with his family following his recovery. In the days before his death, Carter posted numerous photos and videos on Instagram and TikTok.
His last post on Instagram was a music video that he shared to his fans. In it, he sang the lyrics of his song “I’ll tell my honey I’ll be gone but it’s not for long.”
He was shirtless as he performed the song on stage. He then showed off his various tattoos as he rapped with another artist known as CheckTheStar. The song “Lately” was also featured in the video.
The music video for “This Classic Song” was inspired by the toxic relationships that Aaron had been going through.
An official cause of death is not known yet, and it will most likely not be disclosed until the results of the coroner’s investigation and an autopsy are released.
According to reports, detectives are investigating the singer’s death as a homicide.
However, the outlet was told that this procedure is standard procedure.
