The body of an eight-year-old boy was found in a pond in Canberra on Sunday, a day after his mother and brother were also killed in the same area.
His body was discovered by police divers who were searching the area.
Prior to the discovery of the boy’s body, he was listed as missing.
His mother and brother were found dead in a pond on Saturday, and the car they were in was later recovered.
Divers were also deployed to the pond while officers searched the area around it.
The incident has been described as a tragic situation by Detective Superintendent Hall O’Meagher of the ACT Police.
He said the officers who responded to the scene were faced with a difficult situation.
The police are also conducting investigations to determine what happened to the three individuals.
