Just days after Brooke Dalton died in a horror crash in Queensland, another man has succumbed to his injuries.
He was a passenger in the car that she and her boyfriend David were in when they collided with a semi-trailer on November 1.
According to the police, Dalton died at the scene while David was taken to a nearby hospital. The other passenger, 27-year-old Michael Connolly, was later transferred to a critical condition.
On Sunday, the police confirmed that the man had succumbed to his injuries. His loved ones posted messages of love and support on social media.
In their messages, his friends described him as a kind and loving brother who was going to be greatly missed.
The police noted that the conditions at the time of the crash were likely to have caused Dalton to lose control of the vehicle.
Terry McCullough, the Dalby police officer-in-charge, said that speed was also a factor in the accident.
According to Terry McCullough, the police believe that excessive speed was a contributing factor to the accident.
He noted that it was hard for investigators to determine the exact speed of the vehicle due to the weather conditions at the time of the crash.
The police are also appealing for witnesses to come forward and provide them with dashcam footage of the vehicle.
