The father of a two-year-old boy who was killed by two dogs broke down in tears as he talked about his son. He said he was devastated by the loss of his son, Jyedon Pollard.
Twenty-four-year-old O’Hanlon was released on compassionate grounds after he was placed on suicide watch.
He said he was grateful to be with his family, friends, and other loved ones as he struggles with the loss of his son.
According to the Daily Telegraph, O’Hanlon described Jyedon as his best friend. He last saw him on October 19. He was in custody for various charges, including car theft, assault, and breaking and entering.
He was scheduled to appear in court on November 23. He had hoped to be granted bail so he could be reunited with his son.
Jyedon died on Tuesday after he was attacked by two dogs at the Country Gardens Motor Inn in Cowra, in New South Wales.
The animals, which were both cattle dogs, savaged the toddler and caused fatal injuries. After the incident, motel owner Matt McIIIhatton tried to save the boy. He was then dragged away by his mother, Kesha Pollard.
The little boy died on Tuesday afternoon, and the police confirmed that the two dogs were put down. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
It’s believed that the toddler was with the animals in an enclosed area behind the establishment when the attack happened.
However, Jyedon’s family disputed these claims, saying that the animals suddenly ran out of the gate and attacked the boy.
