The husband of a bride who was killed in a buggy crash on her honeymoon has been charged.
In June, 29-year-old Marina Hannah died after the golf buggy she was riding in rolled over on Hamilton Island.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was still pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an extensive investigation, Robbie Morgan, Ms. Hannah’s husband, was charged with various offences, including causing death by driving without due care and using a cellphone while driving.
The police initially stated that the incident was a tragic accident.
Morgan, who is 30 years old, is scheduled to appear in the Proserpine Magistrate Court next month.
Ms. Hannah and her husband, Robbie, had only been married for less than two weeks prior to the fatal accident.
They had celebrated their wedding at the luxurious Doltone House, which overlooks Hyde Park.
Hannah’s friend, Sara Perry, described her as an amazing and funny individual.
She also said that the love she shared with her friends and family was unconditional.
Ms. Perry was stunned by the amount of love that Marina had given to everyone.
