Just months after saying goodbye to their beloved Ramsay Street, the residents of the fictional suburb of Melbourne are getting ready to return.
In a joint statement, Fremantle and Amazon announced that the long-running soap opera will be returning in 2023 with a new show.
The show will continue to explore the various challenges and lives of the residents of the fictional town.
The show featured a wide range of characters who were returning to the community. It was watched by millions of viewers.
The revamped series will be available on Amazon Freevee in the US and UK. Some of the actors who will be returning include Ryan Moloney, Alan Fletcher, Stefan Dennis, and Jackie Woodburne.
In a teaser released on social media, a character who was identified as Jackie Woodburne said that the show would be returning.
She was joined by other characters such as Ryan Moloney and Alan Fletcher. Dennis then said that he was going to have to check his diary.
The three actors then exclaimed, “We’re coming back!” as they embraced each other. The soap opera, which was first aired in Australia in 1985, followed the lives of the residents of Erinsborough. It was released in the UK the following year.
Despite the recent decline in the number of viewers, the soap opera has remained a popular show in the UK.
It launched the careers of various celebrities such as Russell Crowe, Holly Valance, and Natalie Imbruglia.
The new series will also be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
