A couple will face court after they were charged with the murder of a five-week-old baby boy who died at a Queensland park.
Emergency services were called to the Daisy Hill Caravan Park on June 14, last year.
After the child was taken to Logan Hospital, he was pronounced dead. A couple from Stretton and Zillmere were arrested after a 17-month investigation.
Detective Inspector Mark White of the Queensland Police said the boy died due to a significant amount of force that was not caused by an accident.
During a press conference on Thursday, Detective Inspector Mark White of the Queensland Police revealed that the child had suffered significant internal injuries.
He said that after carrying out a medical examination, it was clear that the cause of death was homicide.
The couple is scheduled to appear in the court on Thursday. Detective Inspector White also asked anyone who resided or visited the Daisy Hill Caravan Park on June 14, last year, to contact the police.
He noted that these parks usually have people who come and go.
