Two teenage boys are fighting for their lives after a serious car crash that happened in the town of Brightview, west of Brisbane.
The incident reportedly involved a stolen vehicle. According to police, the Mazda CX-9 was being driven by two teenagers when it tried to overtake a truck.
The Mazda lost control and crashed into a pole before it exploded into flames.
The two boys, who were both in their early teens, were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
A 17-year-old female passenger was also taken to the facility in a critical condition but has since improved.
It’s believed that the car was stolen from a property in Clayfield.
The incident caused the roads to be closed for several hours.
According to Angeline Martin, who lives nearby, the three teenagers were confused after the crash.
She said that one of them asked for her brother following the incident.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the matter and is looking for witnesses to come forward.
