The American Film Institute has announced that Nicole Kidman will be receiving the organization’s Life Achievement Award in June 2023.
The Australian actress took to Instagram to share the news. She is the first Australian to receive this award.
The actress thanked the American Film Institute and its members for honoring her. She also said she was looking forward to seeing them in June.
Kathleen Kennedy, the chair of the institute’s Board of Trustees, noted that she has been an admirer of Nicole’s work for many years.
The award, which is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the film industry, is regarded as the highest honor for a film career.
Previous recipients include Alfred Hitchcock, Bette Davis, and Orson Welles.
After starring in Dead Calm in 1989, she went on to work with Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder.
She is known for her various roles, such as Lion, The Hours, Big Little Lies, and Australia.
She has been nominated for multiple Academy Awards, and she won the Best Actress award for her performance in The Hours in 2003.
Fans have praised her for her achievements, and she has been called “so deserving” of the award.
