Jonnie Irwin, a 49-year-old television personality, broke down in tears as he talked about his terminal illness and how it will affect his family.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer. He said that it’s likely that someone will raise his children after he’s gone.
He said that whenever something nice happens with his kids, he receives a message telling him not to get too happy because he’s not going to be around much longer.
He also noted that his kids will not remember him if he ever passes away.
He added that he’s already dealt with the hard yards and that someone else will likely bring them up. Irwin was informed in 2020 that he has only six months to live.
He and his wife Jessica are currently focusing on making memories with their kids, who are three-year-old twins and two-year-old sons. He said he doesn’t feel the need to tell them about his illness.
Irwin and his wife have only recently considered how they will tell their kids about his illness. He said that he doesn’t think it’s necessary to tell them. He added that it would be a lot for them to get used to not having him around.
Irwin revealed to The Sun that he was fired from his job as a part of A Place In The Sun after he revealed that he was sick.
The production company Freeform claimed that they were doing everything in their power to keep him on the show, but insurance issues prevented them from keeping him.
