Today Show co-host and actress Alison Langdon is set to join the A Current Affair, replacing Tracy Grimshaw, who is leaving the program.
The Nine network announced the new addition on Instagram.
In her new role, Langdon will be presenting a new era of A Current Affair. She will debut on January 30, 2023.
The network released a statement about her character, saying that she is “a fearless and razor-sharp journalist.”
Reactions to the announcement were mixed, with some fans excited to see her take on the role, while others were skeptical.
The Today Show’s move to a new era opens up questions about the future of the program, with many wondering who will replace Karl Stefanovic.
Amelia Adams, a former US correspondent who took on a role with 60 Minutes, could be a potential replacement.
It’s also believed that long-time Today Show contributor Sarah Abo is in the mix.
Regardless of who it is, whoever takes over the role will be the ninth woman to co-host the program alongside Stefanovic, who has been with the show since it began.
For the A Current Affair, this will be the first new host in almost a decade since Grimshaw took over for Ray Martin.
