Fans of Honey Jumbles are outraged after the popular snack was suddenly discontinued without warning.
They noticed that packets of the product were no longer available at Arnott. The decision to remove the iconic soft-baked fingers, which were topped with white or pink icing, was made in July 2021.
Although the bickies were no longer available, customers started noticing the packets of the snack had disappeared a few weeks later.
In response, fans have been posting messages on social media, calling the decision to remove the product “horrible” and asking the company to bring it back.
Many of them noted that they were not aware that the snack was being discontinued. One person wrote that Arnott’s had just cancelled the product without warning.
One user noted that they could only eat so many venetia’s when they can’t get their hands on Honey Jumbles. Another said that they were disappointed by the decision to remove the product.
According to the company, the decision to stop making the biscuits was due to poor sales.
Amy Wagner, a spokesperson for the company, said that the company was not planning on bringing back the product at this time.
She noted that the company had released an adapted recipe for the snack so that its fans could recreate the iconic item at home.
The sudden discontinuation of the product came just weeks after Arnott’s announced that it was ending its Classic assortment pack, which was filled with various varieties of biscuits.
Some of these included Kingstons, Shortbread Creams, Monte Carlos, and the Chocolate Chip. Each 500g pack was priced at around $4.50.
Many of the company’s fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision to remove the product. They vowed to continue fighting to bring it back.
