Emergency services were able to pull the pilot out of a helicopter that crashed into a house in southeast Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon.
The helicopter had come down on the Tylden Ct and Broome Avenue intersection in Mentone. Pictures taken from the scene show the helicopter embedded in the tiles of the house.
Firefighters worked to stabilise the helicopter while also freeing the pilot, who was trapped inside. He was then winched out of the aircraft and taken to a hospital.
The pilot and sole occupant of the helicopter suffered lower body injuries, and they are currently in a stable condition.
The house was not occupied at the time of the crash. The intersection of Tylden Ct and Broome Avenue was also closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene.
