A nine-year-old boy died after reportedly drowning in a swimming pool in South Australia on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a property on Lawrie Tce at around 3:30 pm after the child was pulled from the water.
Unfortunately, despite the desperate attempts to revive him, he eventually died while he was being transported to a hospital.
A police spokesperson said that the death was not considered suspicious.
SafeWork SA personnel were also at the scene on Sunday, and the Waikerie Community Pool confirmed on its Facebook page that it had been temporarily closed due to the incident.
The owner of the pool noted on its Facebook page that the community is mourning the loss of the child.
He also said that the police will prepare a report regarding the incident.
