Aussie mother and her daughter died after a light plane crashed in Florida.
The plane was flying over the Gulf of Mexico with the girl, who was 12 years old.
The girl’s parents, Christian and Misty, were from Queensland, Australia.
Their other daughter, who was not with the family, was ten years old.
The pilot, Christian, was an amateur pilot who had just gotten his license.
The search for the body of the pilot has been scaled back. The family used to live in Bulimba, and the kids went to school in Brisbane.
They were originally from St. Petersburg, Florida. The City of Venice has asked boaters from the areas south of Venice to be on the lookout for debris from the plane.
Divers were also expected to search the area today. The search area is about a third of a mile from the shore.
The Venice Police Department has been in touch with the family of the missing family.
They have also been in contact with the Department of Foreign Affairs.
