Although there is no known cure for the condition, there are treatments that can help slow down the development of the disorder.
The 54-year-old singer revealed in an emotional Instagram post that she was forced to put her European tour on hold due to her condition.
In the post, which was accompanied by a photo of herself, the singer said she was ready to talk about her condition and her struggles.
She added that she had been dealing with issues related to her health for a long time.
In her post, the singer revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder known as the stiff person syndrome.
She said that it has caused her to experience severe spasms.
The announcement came just three months after she was forced to stop her Las Vegas residency.
