An Australian woman vacationing in Victoria shared a photo of what she thought was the best camping feature in the country. She noted that there were eight fenced sites at the Big4 Caravan Park in the city of Ballarat.
She shared the photo of a golden Retriever inside a steel enclosure that was designed to protect her owner’s vehicle from the elements.
The park also has a dog swimming area. The cost of each enclosure ranges from $50 for a single site to $111 for a regular powered site.
Due to the independent ownership of Big4, it’s up to the individual owners to decide what features they would like to add to the park. Another similar facility is situated in the town of Ararat, which has several powered sites that can accommodate vehicles and caravans.
Although it’s not yet common, the response to the photo has indicated that people would like to see more fenced enclosures in parks. Some people noted that they would be great additions to the park. Others said that the facility was very dog-friendly.
In New South Wales, the Capital Country Caravan Park in Sutton has powered sites that feature a fence. Another facility on the north coast of NSW called the Evans Head Holiday Park has several dog-friendly sites.
The Summit 1770 is located in Queensland’s Agnes Water region, and it features three one-bedroom cottages that are dog-friendly. There are also two fenced dog runs for guests. There are also three powered sites with their own dog pen.
