The body of a young woman was discovered in the waters off South Australia’s Cape Jaffa this morning, after she fell from a cruise ship late last night.
The Pacific Explorer was sailing off the coast of Cape Jaffa when the incident happened. According to the company that organized the trip, Carnival Australia, the woman was 23 years old.
The incident happened about 70 kilometers off the coast. The search, which involved boats, aircraft, and police, was carried out last night.
The woman was with a family member on the Pacific Explorer, which left Melbourne for a trip to Cape Jaffa. A spokesperson for Carnival Australia said the company was working with the family to support them.
In a statement, the company said it was providing support and assistance to the family of the woman.
It also thanked the various individuals who helped in the search. The company noted that this incident has deeply affected the crew and guests of the Pacific Explorer.
The company also said that it would continue to work with relevant authorities.
The Pacific Explorer will not be stopping at Cape Jaffa. It will instead continue to travel to the nearby island of Kangaroo Island.
