In a statement to The Guardian, a relative of one of the gunmen who killed two police officers in Queensland called out Stacey Train’s husband, who was also named as a murderer. He referred to him as a manipulative individual.
She was a former teacher who first met the brothers Nathaniel and Gareth Train when she was a member of their father’s church.
They got married in late teens, and shortly after that, she started to distance herself from her family.
She eventually left him for his brother, though it’s not clear when they split.
The family had been reported to the police before, with one of their neighbours telling 7 News that they may have been shot at a couple of weeks ago.
It all started after a video that appeared to show the two officers being shot by the Train brothers surfaced online.
Before they were killed by the police, the video was posted on YouTube. It showed the siege in Wieambilla, which happened just before the brothers were killed.
They killed the officers, including Matthew Arnold and Rachel McCrow, as well as their neighbours, Randall Kirk and Keeley Brough.
In the videos, the Train brothers talked about their brother, Nathaniel, who was a former school principal.
He reportedly told them that he was a whistleblower who had exposed high-level corruption within the NSW Education Department.
In the videos, the brothers also talked about their apocalyptic outlook and referenced the 2 Esdras book of the Bible.
The Queensland Police did not comment on the videos.
