In a video posted on social media, Aussie model and influencer Mikaela Testa can be seen sitting on the floor as she talks about how she was fat-shamed after meeting her in an event.
She also shared a photo of her first meal in 48 hours following the incident. The 22-year-old was met by model and Adelaide resident, Kerri Gribble, on Snapchat.
After meeting her, Gribble said that she was fat in person, prompting Testa to initially brush it off. However, on Saturday, she posted a video to TikTok, where she talked about how her comments had affected her.
She said that she had not left her house in a week due to how she doesn’t like what she looks like and she doesn’t want to be seen by others.
During her teenage years, she battled with an eating disorder. It was one of the reasons why she had her surgery, as it was supposed to fix something in her brain.
However, she said that she didn’t want it to be brought back. She wanted to show how much one comment can affect someone. As an influencer, she said that she tried her best to be real on Instagram.
She was also grateful for her support system, which she didn’t have during her battle with eating disorders. She said that she would encourage anyone struggling with food to watch her video and share a meal together.
She also said that she was triggered by how she gained a healthy 9kg after moving to the US. She attributed her current situation to her past eating disorder.
