A friend of Rachel McCrow, who was killed in an ambush in the Western Downs region of Queensland on December 12, said she will always remember her friend’s death.
A public memorial was held for the two officers, who were identified as Matthew Arnold and Alan Dare.
During the memorial service, which was held in Brisbane, McCrow’s colleague Melissa Gibson praised her courage and determination in the last moments of her life.
She also said that she will always remember how she did not have the time to help her friend.
In a statement, McCrow’s brothers thanked the officers for their heroic actions in saving their sister.
Laura Harriss, who was a friend of Arnold’s family, said that Rach would be remembered as a great person who served the community with honor.
In his speech, McCrow’s mother said that the officers were well-deserved and that he was a great person who served the public with honor.
