Two teenage girls died after their raft crashed while it was being towed in northern NSW.
They were at a campground near the Namoi River at the time of the accident, which happened at around 5pm on Tuesday.
Before paramedics arrived, people at the scene tried to revive the teenagers, but they couldn’t be saved.
The boat’s driver, who was in his 70s, has been taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
The incident was one of several fatal accidents that have occurred on Australian waterways since the Christmas holiday.
