Three brave survivors have spent fourth day in hospital following a car crash that killed their parents in Western Australia.
The accident happened on Christmas Day in Kondinin. The victims were identified as Jake Day, 28, his wife, Catherine Braddock, 25, and their two children, aged one and two.
One of the family’s relatives, Michael Read, said that the three children were doing well and were brought to the Perth Children’s Hospital for lunch.
He also thanked the truck driver who came to their aid after the accident happened.
Although they don’t know the truck driver’s name, the family wanted to express their gratitude for his actions.
They also thanked the people of Western Australia for their support during this difficult time. A crowd-funding campaign was launched to help the family.
The donations will help the Read family’s children, who are currently in the hospital.
They are expected to be discharged soon. The family is still working on how they will look after the kids once they’re released.
“We’re handling it the best we can. We’re all hurting in different ways but we’re just putting the kids first at the moment.”
