A young girl reportedly died after participating in a dangerous challenge that was featured on TikTok, a platform that allows users to create and share videos.
According to Laura Luque, the victim’s aunt, the family is inconsolable over the incident.
Milagros Soto, 12, was found dead in her bedroom on January 3. Her father, who came home from work, found her lifeless body.
According to reports, the girl was sharing the challenge with her schoolmates.
She reportedly failed to remove the noose during the third attempt.
Her aunt said that the student received a link to the challenge through a WhatsApp message.
The girl’s relative said that she was encouraged to participate in the challenge, which is also known as the Blackout challenge.
The Daily Beast reported that at least 20 kids have reportedly killed themselves since mid-2021 as a result of the dangerous prank.
Experts have warned that the dangerous prank could cause seizures, hallucinations, and even death.
According to the New York Post, TikTok faces lawsuits after two girls in California committed suicide after they watched videos related to the challenge.
