In a post on Instagram, Australian badboy Nick Kyrgios revealed that he was recovering from a minor injury.
However, his update was met with a bit of controversy after he raised his middle finger in a photo.
According to his physio, Will Maher, the injury was caused by a small tear in his lateral meniscus.
After having the cyst removed from his knee, the Australian tennis player stated that he would be able to participate in the Indian Wells Masters tournament in March.
He thanked his fans and his partner, Costeen Hatzi, for their support.
Before the operation, Will stated that the injury wasn’t considered to be career-threatening.
He noted that it was important for the team to keep pushing him to get back on the court.
During the operation, a syringe was used to drain the cyst. According to his partner, Nick had gruesome photos of the procedure.
Due to the condition of his knee, he was not able to participate in the Australian Open.
He said he was disappointed to miss the tournament, and he was already exhausted after a hectic schedule.
Before the Australian Open, Nick was criticized for pulling out of the United Cup.
There were no speculations about his participation in the grand-slam tournament until a routine MRI revealed the extent of his injury.
